Salomon Center – Ogden: This place is the talk of the Wasatch Front. Included within the complex is the Flowrider (standing wave for surfing!) iClimb (serious indoor climbing wall) iFly (skydiving simulator with instruction, it’s a blast to do and watch & do!) Fat Cats – kids arcade with every imaginable virtual experience, bumper cars, glow-in-the-dark golf, bowling & billiards as well as a full service state-of-the-art Gold’s Gym with daily rates. This amazing facility will provide hours of fun for the whole family, and is just 20 minutes from the Ogden Valley.
Larry Miller’s Megaplex 13 at The Junction: State-of-the-art movie theater complex across the street from Solomon Center with comfortable rocking seats, stadium style staggered seating (so there’s not a bad seat in the house,) and dine-in-theater options with Pizza Hut, burgers &Mexican food available. Tree House Museum. The Elizabeth Steward Treehouse Museum is a nonprofit educational organization whose mission is to be the magical

Dinosaur Park: Located right at the mouth of Ogden Canyon across from Rainbow Garden’s is northern Utah’s only interactive dinosaur museum. Here you’ll get an up close look at the full sized dinosaur species that roamed the surrounding landscape millions of years ago…. Stomp over to www.dinosaurpark.org or call (801) 393-3466.

Lagoon Amusement Park: Utah’s most famous amusement park is about 45 minutes from the Ogden Valley in Farmington and offers screaming fun for the whole family with lots of scary & fun rides, a water park, entertainment and more. Scream on over to www.lagoonpark.com or call (801) 451-8000.
Ogden Nature Center is a wonderful 152-acre nature preserve and education center open to the public year-round. Visitors enjoy 1.5 miles of walking trails, picnic areas, tree houses, bird blinds and an exhibit of live birds of prey. Two of Utah's greenest buildings are on site to teach about sustainable structures. A unique gift shop is located in the Visitor Center. The Ogden Nature Center offers a wide variety of classes & workshops for all ages including art, photography, birding, wildlife in Utah, outdoor recreation, conservation, sustainability, summer camps and more. Hill Air Force Base Aerospace Museum: The Museum exhibits more than 90 military aircraft, missiles, and aerospace vehicles on the grounds and inside the Major General Rex A. Hadley Gallery and the Lindquist Stewart Fighter Gallery. Wolf Creek Utah in Eden is Ogden Valley’s premier par-72 golf course! This course is semi-private and offers uniquely different front and back nines. Call (801) 745-3365 or visit www.WolfCreekUtah.com.
El Monte: This course offers a 9-hole classic parkland layout situated at the mouth of Ogden Canyon, just 15 scenic minutes from the Ogden Valley. The significant feature of the golf course is a pair of large Fremont Cottonwood trees that are in the middle of the first fairway and the historic clubhouse. www.ogdencity.com or (801) 629-0694
Mt. Ogden Golf Course: This 18 hole course is tucked up against Mt. Ogden on the back side of Snowbasin and offers a challenging round amidst incredible scenery. It’s a bit hard to find as it’s tucked into a neighborhood but it’s worth the hunt! www.ogdencity.com or (801) 629-0699
The Barn Golf Club is in North Ogden nestled in the foothills of majestic Ben Lomond Mountain and offers an 18 hole course with clubhouse. Visit www.thebarngolfclub.com or (801) 782-7320
Remuda Golf Course is about a half hour’s drive from the Ogden Valley in Farr West, near I-15 and offers 18 holes. www.Remudagolf.com or (801) 731-7200
Pineview Lake: This gorgeous lake is the centerpiece of Ogden Valley’s summer recreation, with terrific fishing (famous for large muskies!), kayaking, watersports of all types, boating and swimming. There is a trail system on the north end of the lake with excellent bird watching. There are three public boat ramps with a nominal entrance fee: Port Ramp on the west side at the entrance to Eden, Anderson Cove campground at the south side (additional fee applies) and Cemetery Point in Huntsville. Middle Inlet on the east side of the Lake offers abundant parking and is ideal for kayakers, beach fishing and paddlers. The reservoir is managed by the U.S. Forest Service, and is one of the busiest in the State, so get out early if you want to ski or wakeboard! Fly Fishing: The South Fork of the Ogden River offers blue ribbon fly fishing. You can drive up Hwy. 39 in Huntsville towards Monte Cristo and stop just about anywhere along the river that looks appealing, provided there is a safe pull-out. Also, there’s great fishing in the river in Ogden Canyon with ample places to park. Stop into the Oaks restaurant for a burger or an ice creak cone with our famous Farr Better Ice cream (made in Ogden) before or after fishing. Dine outdoors along the banks of the river. Gray Cliff Lodge in the canyon is open for dinner and offers excellent family style dining.

Your one stop source for maps and information on hiking around the Ogden Valley is Weber Pathways, our non-profit trails organization. They produce a terrific map you can view online at www.weberpathyways.com or you can pick one up at our offices or at Diamond Peak Mountain Sports in Eden. Trails are rated by difficulty and duration.

There’s great bird watching all around Pineview Lake, with common sightings of large species such as Sandhill cranes, blue heron, bald eagles, wild turkey, pheasants and pelicans. This area also attracts many species. Pick up a copy of “Utah Birds” at Rainbow Gardens store at the mouth of Ogden Canyon to assist you in your bird watching.
Dottie Beck’s gift shop is a wonderful boutique in the charming Victorian building next to our office in Eden that sells gifts, kitchenware, housewares, clothing and jewelry (including Troll Beads). They’re open Mon – Sat 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and can be reached at www.dottiebecks.com or (801) 745-6627.
Eden Liquor Agency: Ogden Valley’s full service liquor store is located next to the post office in Eden at the Eats of Eden Plaza. They sell full strength beers and a full selection of fine wines and spirits, as well as specialty foods. They’re open Mon – Sat from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and till 10 p.m. during peak season, closed Sundays and Holidays. Call to verify hours! (801)745-3362.
Valley Market & Pharmacy: At the 4 way stop in Eden, Valley Market is a terrific local grocery offering a good selection of fruits & produce including organic options, a deli, full service pharmacy, dry cleaner and DVD rentals. Open 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. daily, Sundays until 9 p.m. (801) 745-4000. Pharmacy – Call (801) 745-1800 for hours.
Eden Coffee & Cocoa: Adjacent to the Valley Market is Eden’s quaint & alternative coffee shop with a drive through option. Using Ibis Triple Certified Organize coffee, you’ll enjoy all the fancy grande latte’s and cappuccino’s with a unique local flair.

Target, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, RC Willey Furnishings, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc: Most of the “big box” retailers are located on the west section of Riverdale Road in Ogden, which is about a 30 minute drive from Ogden Valley.
Union Station – Train Museum & Browning Gun Museum. This former train depot at the bottom of Historic 25th St. in Ogden houses three unique museums – The John F. Wolf Mountain’s Music in the Mountains Concert Series kicks off in July. Concerts are just $20 per carload ($40 for symphony) so stuff everyone in the Suburban and head over for an evening of cool mountain fun. Dress warmly as it cools off once the sun goes down! Concessions available. Picnics with wine/alcohol are allowed.
Farmers Market: Select Saturday morning from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Old Town Eden (by our office.) Farmers, crafts people and live entertainment.
Ogden Valley Balloon & Artist Festival: August 13 – 15. This is THE event of the summer season, with morning balloon launches, the evening Balloon Glow, continuous live entertainment, arts, crafts & food booths, Plein Air art competition and more.
